Willow
River Farms
Willow River Farms offers a rural, family style lifestyle
for adults with developmental disabilities and related
conditions. It was founded on the principle that every
individual has value and something to contribute to
the community. In this rural setting residents realize
their potential and experience the satisfaction and
pride that comes from productive work.

The
Brighter Tomorrow
The
Brighter Tomorrows website is an interactive resource
for families seeking information on Down syndrome in
both English and Spanish. It will be especially useful
to families new to Down syndrome. In addition there
is an interactive physicians website to assist physicians
in delivering the diagnosis of Down syndrome to families.

The Brighter
tomorrow for pediatricians
Delivering
a diagnosis of Down syndrome, either in utero or postnatally,
can be very challenging for any physician. The purpose
of this interactive tutorial is to provide physicians
with current knowledge about DS, as well as the communication
tools to adequately support families and prospective
parents at the point of the initial diagnosis of Down
syndrome.
As
a pediatrician, you will want to know what the parents
of the newborn may have experienced in the birth of
their child. As an obstetrician, you will be better
able to communicate with parents about critical in utero
decisions if you are exposed to the complexity of issues
and emotions associated with the birth of a child with
Down syndrome.
