About the DSAH

'To Build a Brighter Future for Children and Adults with Down Syndrome'

The Down Syndrome Association of Houston (DSAH) is all about caring and sharing. We are a group of families, friends, educators, and health care professionals with a common bond: 'a desire to build a brighter future for children and adults with Down syndrome (DS).' We join together to promote the general welfare of individuals with DS and to provide a forum for addressing issues in their best interest.

We have been a part of the Houston community for over 19 years and have assisted thousands of families. DSAH furthers its mission by offering support to new parents of babies with DS, assisting parents with challenges related to medical, therapeutic and educational issues, and increasing DS awareness to reach our communities, our educators and our medical professionals. DSAH brings the DS community together through social and educational activities as part of our commitment to improving the lives and opportunities afforded to all persons with DS.

We are a section 501(c) (3) non-profit organization and we rely exclusively on donations to support our programs.
